What's new on Lofi Cities
New cities, features and fixes, newest first. Everything runs in your browser, so each update is there the next time you open the site.
- Five lofi styles in the Vibe panel (V): Jazzhop, Piano, Ambient, Bossa and Synth, each with its own instruments and grooves.
- Five more cities: Hong Kong, Sydney, San Francisco, Hamburg and Amsterdam.
- Istanbul's Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia are redrawn to look like the real ones, with lead domes, crescent finials and the Blue Mosque's six minarets.
- A live count under the city name: how many people are here now, how many are on your city and how many came by today.
- Every city has a billboard for rent, with a made-up local ad such as Cafe Lune in Paris until a business takes it and gets drawn in pixel art.
- Vibe controls (V): chill, balanced or upbeat, with the full band, no drums or keys only.
- The city sounds mixer (A): a slider for each sound of the city, from the rain to the bells.
- The mini player (P) floats the scene in a small window over your other apps, on computers.
- City tour (C): a new city every 5 to 30 minutes, or follow the night to the city closest to 1 am.
- Works offline once opened, and installs as an app.
- The save menu saves the current frame as a 1080p PNG, on phones and tablets too.
- OBS mode: add ?obs to a city's address for a clean stream background, with the music starting on its own.
- The About panel gets tabs, a card for every city and a FAQ.
- A new page on how the music is made.
- Video loops of all 11 cities on Gumroad, for your own videos and streams (without the music).
- Paris is redrawn: rain on the window of a painter's attic, with the Eiffel Tower sparkling far off.
- Up next (Q): see the coming tracks and pick one to play right away.
- Focus and sleep timers (T): 25/5 or 50/10 focus rounds on repeat, and a sleep timer that fades the music out.
- Phones and tablets get touch-sized controls, and a swipe on the scene switches city.
- Every city gets its own page, such as loficities.com/tokyo/.
- The first version: six cities (Paris, Tokyo, New York, London, Rio de Janeiro and Istanbul), endless lofi composed live in your browser and each city's own sounds.
